A small group and I had drawn up a grant proposal for the Kempsey Shire Council in which we would design and build a recreational community center for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members. The recreational center would run programs such as before and after school care for the Indigenous children that would aid them with homework, as well as running around the clock counselling sessions on both an individual level, couple sessions and family sessions.
Through this proposal I have obtained the necessary knowledge and understanding of how to create a grant proposal, what funding is needed, which departments require contact and briefing, and how to accurately and professionally portray and present the program to a boardroom of council members and investors. I am confident in my ability to successfully draw up and act upon the proposal created and am confident in my abilities to create future proposals.
